Trapping with the inside of the foot is the most commonly used trap because it's the easiest to learn and teach. Here are some important coaching points for teachine proper technique to control the ball with the inside of the foot:

  1. Move towards the ball
  2. Body behind the flight of the ball
  3. Elbows up and away from the body for balance
  4. Knee's slightly bent
  5. Chest over the feet
  6. Trapping foot turned where it is perpendicular to the plant foot and the inside of the trapping foot is facing the ball.
  7. Trapping leg knee should be over the ball.
  8. Player should focus on good balance with non-trapping leg/foot.
  9. Slightly withdraw the foot to cushino the pace of the ball once the ball touches the foot.
